A summit focusing on the cultivation of a new ecosystem for data security was held in Guangzhou's Baiyun district on July 8, which was the first of its kind in the city.
Renowned experts, scholars, and enterprise representatives leading in the field gathered at the event to discuss pressing issues like the future development of data security and exploring a new ecosystem of reliable digital economy by solving prominent problems, as well as grasping digital reform trends.
Possessing the largest area and resident population in downtown Guangzhou, Baiyun district plays an important role in leading the transformation of the city's digital governance. Phased achievements have been made, such as the total scale of the digital economy reaching nearly 10 billion yuan ($1 billion). It is also home to several leading digital economy enterprises, such as Huawei, Baidu, and Glodon.
Baiyun district is also where the first Guangzhou government-led data innovative application competition was held in 2020. Zhao Xi, general manager of Guangdong Yuewei Information Technology, which was one of the award winners, said that their project to help build the big data government affairs system has settled in Baiyun and will invest more than 100 million yuan to build an intelligent industrial park.
He Jingqing, Party secretary of Baiyun district, said that the district will give full play to its advantages in big data and rich application scenarios, as well as promote the deep integration of digital technology and the real economy, thus accelerating the high-quality development of the digital economy.
