Baiyun ranks 31st among China's top 100 districts

Guangzhou's Baiyun district ranked 31st among China's top 100 districts in 2022, according to a report on high-quality economic development of domestic districts released by CCID Consulting's Urban Economic Research Center on July 27.
The report assessed 910 districts (including sub-provincial cities) from 23 second-level indexes based on the following criteria: economic strength, growth momentum, internal support, regional function level and shared development.
Baiyun's GDP exceeded 250 billion yuan ($37 billion) in 2021 with a year-on-year growth of 8.1 percent. Up to now, the district has made the list four consecutive times and has been an important engine that propels the high-quality development of China's urban economy.
Baiyun has attracted 181 new projects with a current total investment of 100.7 billion yuan, and the scale of fixed assets investment keeps expanding while consumer market continues to recover.
The district has seen rises of the 100-billion-yuan level rail transit, new-generation information as well as the beauty industrial clusters and will give priority to the development of emerging industries of intelligent network and new energy vehicles, rail transit and laser plasma.
In addition, Baiyun has released a series of preferential policies for talents and enterprises, making it home to 883,000 talents.
