The first general meeting of the Guangzhou Baiyun District Cosmetics E-Commerce Industry Association took place on July 29.
As a non-profit association, it was established to promote the brand establishment and digital development of the cosmetics e-commerce industry in Baiyun, as well as boost high-quality cosmetics industrial growth in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
It has attracted nearly 100 enterprises to join the association from more than 400 well-known brands in the industry.
Dai Chengfang, general manager of Guangzhou OLY Cosmetics and the association's founder, said that Baiyun is a top cluster for China's cosmetics industry due to its superior investment environment and solid cosmetics industrial foundation.
The association will strive to build a communication bridge between the government and enterprises and provide professional services for member enterprises, Dai added.
Baiyun officials expressed hope that the district will cooperate with the association to create a better development environment for cosmetics enterprises.
In addition, after establishing a plan for the cosmetics industry in 2018, Baiyun accumulated 130 industrial cosmetic enterprises above designated size in 2020, with a total output value of 10.1 billion yuan ($1.5 billion) and an annual average growth rate of 11.7 percent from 2018 to 2020.
