The harvest for Kyoho grapes in Guangzhou's Baiyun district has arrived. The grapes are purple-black in color, sweet in flavor, emit a faint strawberry-like fragrance, and contain juicy pulp and skin that is easy to peel. 

Acclaimed as "the king of grapes", Kyoho grape is the largest grape variety in Asia in terms of size.

The grapes, planted in a 20-mu (13,333-square-meter) greenhouse at the Guangzhou Happy Family Farm in Baiyun, are now ready to hit the market and will continue to be picked until mid-to-late August.

Chen Wanchun, person in charge of the farm, said that their Kyoho grapes are planted with organic fertilizers without the use of sweeteners and colorants, so although they're not particularly big they are sweeter than other grapes on the market.

Coupled with the high temperature before maturity, this year's Kyoho grapes are particularly sweet, Chen added.

The farm has integrated modern agricultural technology with traditional home work since it was established in 2019. 

Aiming to grow green, safe and healthy organic fruits and vegetables, the farm has become a symbol of green ecological agriculture in Baiyun district.
