The transformation plan of the 173.59-hectare Jiahewanggang area in the northern part of Baiyun New City, Guangzhou, was approved on Aug 31.
The newly planned area is expected to span from Xinshun Road in the east to Pengshang Dexing Road in the west.
The area will take full advantage of Jiahewanggang Station, a transit station on Guangzhou Metro Lines 2, 3 and 14, to revitalize its land resources while accelerating the implementation of government reserved land.
In addition, the area will promote the upgrading and reconstruction of the existing metro lines 2 and 3, and effectively maximize the use of space.
After transformation, the area's total floorage is expected to be 2.72 million square meters with a newly added population of about 33,000 residents, and the road network density will be 9.4 kilometers per sq km. High-standard public service facilities and municipal public facilities are in the works to be established in the area.
