Adjustment plans for Guangzhou Metro Line 24 (Guangzhou North Station to Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Station) and Metro Line 8 Jiangfu section of the north extension (Jiaoxin Station to Jiangfu Station) were announced on Sept 19.

The announcement shows that Metro Line 24 will connect Guangzhou's Huadu, Baiyun and Yuexiu districts. It will also link Baiyun's core functional areas including Baiyun Lake Digital Technology City and Baiyun New City west extension area.

With a total length of about 31.6 kilometers, 18 stations at key locations such as Guangzhou North Station and Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall will also be set up.

The Jiangfu section of the north extension of Metro Line 8 is expected to establish four stations, and its entire construction will be carried out underground with a total length of about 9.4 km.

Both of the two projects' total construction period is about five years, and they plan to establish a number of stations in Baiyun, which will greatly facilitate the residents' travel once operational.
