Construction has been progressing on three metro lines passing through Baiyun, creating favorable conditions for subsequent work, local media outlets reported on Oct 11.
With the last pouring of the roof concrete, the main structure of Baiyun Culture Square Station on Metro Line 12 has been successfully capped. In the next stage of construction, four shield machines will be used to start tunneling.
Starting from Guangzhou Railway Station and ending at Jiahewanggang Station, Phase II project of Metro Line 14 has put 12 shield tunneling machines into use as part of its construction efforts.
Among the eight stations along the line, excluding the completed Jiahewanggang Station, seven stations are located in Baiyun, including Gangbei, Henan, and Pengbian stations.
The second phase of Metro Line 13 starts from Chaoyang Station and ends at Yuzhu Station, connecting it to the first phase of the line. It mainly passes through Guangzhou's key development areas, such as Baiyun Lake Area, Luochongwei Comprehensive Reconstruction Area, Zhujiang New Town, and Guangzhou International Financial City.
So far, 56 percent of the project's civil works have been completed. Eight of the 23 stations have been capped, while six depot sections have been connected. In addition, civil construction has been carried out on the Yuzhu and the Huanggang parking lots.
