The China Import and Export Fair, internationally known as the Canton Fair, kicked off its 132nd session online on Oct 15, attracting more than 35,000 domestic and overseas companies to display their products.

The fair is expected to hold 200 new product debuts revolving around the seven sectors of electronic appliances, building materials, home decoration, industrial manufacturing, hardware tools, household consumption, fashion, as well as health and leisure.

A total of 128 Baiyun-based enterprises are displaying their products, covering general machinery, small processing machinery and industrial parts, household appliances, lighting products, electronic and electrical products, building and decorative materials, sanitary equipment, as well as kitchen appliances and household products, at the 132nd Canton Fair to expand their global market.

According to customs statistics, Baiyun achieved a total import and export value of about 32 billion yuan ($5 billion) from January to August, an increase of 20.2 percent year-on-year, fully demonstrating the resilience and vitality of Baiyun's foreign trade.

"Expanding the exhibition size, extending service time, enriching trade promotion activities, promoting interaction with cross-border e-commerce platforms, and optimizing online platform functions at the Canton Fair will provide enterprises and merchants in the world with more convenience in selling and buying," said China's Commerce Minister Wang Wentao.
