Gate 5 Mall is located in the terminal building of the former Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, the core area of Baiyun New Town. It is the first comprehensive aviation-themed shopping mall in the world.

To preserve the history of the old airport, the entire building of G5 was rebuilt based on the original design of the terminal. It provides visitors a unique aviation-related experience with the elements in space design and the latest projection technology still intact.

The original air traffic commanding tower was renovated into a clubhouse, and the aviation hotel was transformed into a food court, offering western cuisines and a variety of culinary specialties from Shanghai, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam.

Entertainment in the shopping plaza is provided by Golden Harvest cinema. Also available in the complex are a supermarket, fashion retail stores, beauty and body care centers and a children's park.
