Baiyun station to start operation before 2024
The main structure of the supporting facilities for Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station has been topped off, indicating that the station will be put into operation by the end of this year, local media outlets reported on May 11.
The station's supporting facilities and public spaces include a bus terminal, a parking lot, an operation center, and its eastern and western squares.
Constructed by Guangzhou Metro Group, the station is set to be the first mega hub project in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and one of the largest comprehensive railway hubs in Asia.
Six urban rail transit lines are planned to intersect here, including the Metro Line 12, the intercity railway between Fangcun and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, along with the northern extension of Metro Line 8.
It plans to introduce new high-speed railway routes, such as the Beijing-Guangzhou and Guangzhou-Zhanjiang routes. It will also undertake all normal speed trains from Guangzhou Station and Guangzhou East Station.
