Baiyun's TCM hospital to be expanded
Baiyun Hospital, which is affiliated with Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), has launched an expansion project in order to promote the high-quality development of TCM in the district, local media reported on July 21.
The project involves an investment of around 1.4 billion yuan ($195 million), and will comprehensively upgrade and renovate the hospital's outpatient and medical technology building, the fever clinic building, and the emergency treatment building.
The 87-mu (6-hectare) project is expected to be put into use in 2026 and feature over 1,000 beds. It will become the largest third-tier TCM hospital in the northern part of Baiyun, further improving the district's TCM service quality.
Since the Baiyun government entrusted the management of this TCM hospital in 2020, the hospital has achieved deep integration and homogenization of key national and provincial specialties.
The hospital now boasts a total of 96 experts and has served more than 42,000 patients since it opened.
