Baiyun airport advances its phase III expansion project
The Phase III expansion project of Terminal 3 at Guangzhou Baiyun Airport has made construction progress, local media outlets reported on Aug 22.
Currently, the steel structure of the east pier of T3 has been completed, with more than 70 percent of the underground structure of the entire project now finished.
Located on the southeast side of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, the project features a main building, as well as southeast, southwest, northeast and northwest piers.
In the future, the terminal will include six high-speed rail lines, five intercity railway lines, and one metro line. Additionally, there will be 10 refueling stations, 13 public parking lots, as well as five taxi and bus parking areas.
Once completed, Baiyun airport's annual passenger capacity will reach 120 million people, with a cargo throughput capacity of 3.8 million metric tons.
This will position it at the forefront of global aviation in terms of passenger and cargo volumes.
