Dating back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), the Zeng Family Ancestral Halls located in Zhongluotan township of Longgang Village in Biayun district have a history of about 600 years. The architectural complex was rebuilt during the reign of Emperor Qianlong (1736-95) of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and renovated during the Republic of China period (1912-49). The complex is a site under city-level protection.

The ancestral halls are home to multiple exquisite wood and brick carvings. Most of the columns, gates and corner stones are made of the red sandstone commonly used in the Ming Dynasty, and are engraved with lions and dragons.

Kapok trees are planted around the ancestral halls. When in bloom they add great charm to the beauty of the site, which is recognized as one of the top ten scenic attractions in Baiyun district.
