Baiyun records Spring Festival tourism surge
During this Spring Festival holiday, Guangzhou's Baiyun district received a cumulative total of 1.5 million visitors, up to a 106.3 percent increase year-on-year, and the total cultural and tourism consumption was estimated to be about 1.22 billion yuan ($169 million), reaching a new high in recent years.
The Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area received nearly one million visitors, an increase of 94.33 percent year-on-year and about 56 percent in 2019. What attracted visitors here was the abundant Chinese New Year highlights: Yuntai Garden in full bloom, Moxing Ridge with a convenient sightseeing escalator, and Mingchun Valley with plentiful interactive activity.

Maofeng Mountain Scenic Spot received a total of 50,595 tourists during the holiday, an increase of 119.72 percent year-on-year. It entered its best viewing period, with various flowers blooming. Meanwhile, a series of dragon-themed activities attracted tourists' active participation.
To provide children with a meaningful spring festival, Guangzhou Children's Park organized a new school on Flower Street, one of Guangdong's new year traditions, which contains activities such as garden tours, cultural and creative product experiences, parent-child play for children to perceive the artistic charm and cultural significance of flowers.
