As one of the main bases of the non-staple food project and an important agricultural and sideline product base in Guangzhou, Baiyun is rich in natural resources. The water chestnut powder produced in Datian village of Jianggao town has always been popular in Guangzhou market; the lychees in the hilly areas of Northeast Baiyun have been well known for their wide variety; the chicken with tender meat and golden feathers in Jiang village of Jianggao town has been sought after in Hong Kong and Macao; the roast meat with crisp skin, juicy meat and subtle sweetness has successfully applied for district-level intangible cultural heritage.
Baiyun district enjoys a good reputation for numerous local specialties such as longan, wampee, mango, radish, celery, orange, water chestnut, pigeon, red onion, leek, poultry, and sweet corn.
