The 15th National Games will take place in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao from Nov 9 to 21 next year. To support this grand event, the Guangzhou Stadium in Baiyun district has entered a period of renovation, with adjustments to its opening schedule.

During a press conference held by the 15th National Games Organizing Committee on April 11, Zhang Xin, director of athletic competitions at the General Administration of Sport of China, announced that this is a cross-regional event, with the opening ceremony in Guangzhou and the closing ceremony in Shenzhen. Approximately 90 percent of the competition venues are existing facilities, reflecting unity and cooperation towards frugality and opposition to extravagance.

On March 20, the Guangzhou Games Organizing Committee held a press conference, confirming a total of 25 competition venues, with the Guangzhou Sports Stadium already undergoing renovation. In preparation for this grand event, the stadium has adjusted its open areas.

Situated on South Baiyun Avenue in Guangzhou, the Guangzhou Sports Stadium is a modern, multi-functional sports facility that has hosted numerous significant events and concerts. Even when there are no sports or cultural activities, it remains a beloved destination for nearby residents.
