On May 22, Guangzhou's Baiyun district hosted an event promoting the Better Design Award (BDA), an comprehensive and international design competition aimed at a global audience.
Wu Zhiqiang, an academic from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, along with five other academics and 15 industry experts, formed the BDA International Academic Committee.
The goal is to provide comprehensive academic support and guidance for the competition, while promoting exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and global design fields.
Subsequently, the committee held its inaugural seminar where industry experts discussed in depth the integration of design with various industries and how design can contribute intelligence and strength to the high-quality development of cities.
The competition includes two main categories: products (works) and enterprises, with strict requirements for entries to meet various criteria and undergo unified online evaluations. The competition offers six award categories with a total prize pool exceeding 4 million yuan ($552,240).
