Baiyun hosts urban image symposium to accelerate development
Recently, Baiyun district held a special symposium on the urban image, inviting experts in urban planning and industrial economics to provide development recommendations for the district.
In the first quarter of 2024, the regional GDP of Baiyun reached 69.63 billion yuan ($9.6 billion), a 7.2 percent year-on-year increase. The aviation transport industry played a crucial role, with turnover and throughput increasing by 43.3 percent and 39.8 percent, respectively.
Baiyun has set its development focus on becoming an international hub gateway, emphasizing the creation of a demonstration zone for integrated development of port, production, and city, linking the core of Guangzhou with international hubs to serve as a gateway connecting Guangzhou to the world and a concentrated transportation hub.
With abundant ecological resources and the distinctive label of Baiyun Mountain and Pearl River, Baiyun plans to build an international exchange center to attract international activities. The district is exploring a Chinese-style modernization practice that promotes harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.
The industrial transformation direction of Baiyun includes transportation hub industries, central urban area industries, smart and intelligent industries, and mountain-water ecological industries. With the largest construction land area in Guangzhou, the district provides ample space for the development of new productive forces.
The modern industrial cluster in Baiyun continues to expand in scale, maintaining strong development momentum and propelling the district to become a new engine for the central world city of Guangzhou.
