2nd Curcuma Alismatifolia Cultural Festival held in Baiyun

The second Curcuma Alismatifolia Cultural Festival in Baiyun district was scheduled to be held on July 16 at the Baiyun Anti-Drug Theme Park.

The Baiyun Anti-Drug Theme Park, known for its diverse varieties and the largest planting area of Curcuma Alismatifolia in Guangzhou, has been designated as one of the first ecological popular science education points within the integrated system of national botanical gardens in South China.

This year, the park has doubled its planting area of ginger and lotus flowers in the Baiyun Anti-Drug Theme Park from 1,500 square meters to 3,000 sq m, showcasing over 70,000 from more than 50 varieties of Zingiberaceae family ornamental plants.

The event has also invited seven inheritors of intangible cultural heritage and heritage bases, who are poised to demonstrate a variety of intangible cultural skills such as embedded porcelain, Cantonese Embroidery, crochet, paper cutting, soft pottery, and straw painting. The park has added a new intangible cultural heritage wall to display national-level intangible heritage such as embedded porcelain and paper cutting.

This grand event is set to combine floral beauty with traditional culture, allowing visitors to appreciate the beauty of the stunning flower displays while experiencing the rich charm of Lingnan culture.
