Guangzhou Baiyun Station's passenger throughput surpasses 7 million
Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station, as one of the important landmarks in Guangzhou, received a total of 7.05 million passengers from Dec 26 last year to July 18 this year, with 3.72 million passengers departing and 3.33 million passengers arriving.
During this year's peak summer travel season, 37 additional trains are scheduled to operate daily, with an expected daily outbound passenger count surpassing 30,000.
The passenger flow at Baiyun station has been steadily increasing, with the daily average number of departing and arriving passengers rising from 1,500 and 1,000, respectively, at the beginning of its operation to the current figures of 18,000 and 16,000.
As one of the key railway hubs in Guangzhou, Baiyun station handles the departure and arrival of a significant portion of trains on the Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway, Beijing-Guangzhou line, and Guangzhou-Maoming line. Following the adjustment to the train schedule in the third quarter of this year, the station's capacity has been further increased, with the daily average number of trains increasing to 140.
Passengers at Baiyun station can travel to most cities in China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Nanjing, Xi'an, and Changchun. In the future, with the integration of the Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-speed Railway and Guangzhou-Qingyuan intercity lines, traveling from the station will become even more convenient.
During the peak summer travel period, the station has implemented a variety of convenient measures, including adjusting passageways, providing services, and allowing special passengers to be accompanied into the station.
