Guangzhou's Baiyun district is set to host its renowned First Birth Festival, also known as the Zheng Xian Birth Festival, a cultural extravaganza that will span eight days, from Aug 24 to 31. This annual event was originally to honor an alchemist named Zheng Anqi in the Qin dynasty (BC 221-207).
The festival aims to host a unique cultural and artistic feast, allowing attendees to immerse themselves in the rich cultural heritage of Guangzhou. The theme of this year's festival is "Visit Baiyun Mountain, pray for prosperity, and enjoy a healthy life", blending cultural traditions with modern elements. Among the highlights is the Baiyun Mountain, a popular destination known for its breathtaking views and historical significance.
One of the key attractions of this year's festival is the complimentary access to several prominent locations. The festival features a diverse range of events, including traditional performances, art exhibitions, and culinary delights, all designed to highlight the city's multifaceted cultural landscape. This initiative is part of the district's efforts to enhance public accessibility to cultural experiences.
