Baiyun to host National Paddleboard Orienteering
Baiyun district in Guangzhou is gearing up to host the prestigious China Paddleboard Orienteering Open Tournament from Sep 7 to 8 at Baiyun Lake. The announcement was recently made by the Water Sports Center of the General Administration of Sport of China.
The tournament will bring together a diverse group of participants including associations, clubs, enthusiasts, and individual paddleboarders. Participants will compete in various categories such as the open group, university group, U18, and U12. The event will feature two main types of competitions: the short-distance race and the points race.
The tournament is open to paddleboarding enthusiasts aged eight to 65 from across the Chinese mainland. Set against backdrop of Baiyun Lake, often known as Guangzhou's "Little West Lake", this event takes place at the city's largest artificial lake, a national water conservancy scenic area. Baiyun Lake has become a hub for paddleboarding attracting numerous clubs and water sports base enthusiasts.
Baiyun district, with its abundant ecological resources and potential for cultural and tourism development, is well-suited to host high-caliber outdoor sports events.
