Reconstruction plan for Guangzhou Railway Station
Guangzhou Railway Station and its surrounding areas are poised for a major transformation following the approval of a comprehensive reconstruction plan.
This ambitious plan, which includes the districts of Yuexiu, Baiyun, and Liwan, seeks to integrate the station with urban, industrial, and residential developments. The plan is divided into three major sections: the Guangzhou Station Integrated Area, Yaotai village, and Sanyuanli village.
The Guangzhou Station Integrated Area will cover 238 hectares with a construction volume of 5.18 to 5.3 million square meters. This area will feature a balanced mix of industrial and residential spaces, with a 67-to-33 ratio. The plan incorporates 15 specific plots, public service facilities, and an optimized road network to enhance connectivity.
Yaotai village will consist of 2.75 million sq m, focusing on residential development with a 4-to-6 industrial-to-residential ratio. The area will also benefit from improved public services and transportation links, including the planned Yaotai Station of Metro Line 14.
Sanyuanli village will be transformed with a focus on residential development, covering 1.92 million sq m. The area will feature 214 public service facilities and an enhanced road network, including the extension of Metro Line 8.
