Baiyun competitors shine at 47th WorldSkills Competition in Lyon
The 47th WorldSkills Competition concluded in Lyon, France, on Sept 15, with the Chinese delegation achieving remarkable success. In a total of 59 events, China attained 36 gold, nine silver, and four bronze medals, in addition to securing eight excellence awards. This achievement positioned China at the top of the medal tally and overall team scores.
Guangdong province stood out with 13 gold, five silver, one bronze medal, and three excellence awards. Eighteen competitors from Baiyun won nine gold, three silver, and two excellence awards, showcasing their exceptional skills on the global stage.
The WorldSkills Competition, held biennially, is the world's premier vocational skills event. The competition had over 1,400 competitors from various member countries and regions of the WorldSkills Organization.
Baiyun's vocational schools, including Guangzhou Light Industry Technician College, Guangzhou Industry and Trade Technician College, Guangdong Machinery Technician College, Guangzhou Electromechanical Technician College, and Guangzhou Baiyun Technician College of Business, collectively won nine gold medals. Highlights include Guangzhou Industry and Trade Technician College's victories in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, CAD Mechanical Design, Autonomous Mobile Robotics, and Mobile Application Development.
The success of Baiyun's competitors can be attributed to Baiyun's robust focus on vocational training and talent development. The upcoming WorldSkills Competition is scheduled to take place in Shanghai, China, where Baiyun's competitors are anticipated to deliver exceptional performances.
