Baiyun embraces modern agriculture with innovative practices
Autumn Equinox (Sept 22) is a time of perfect balance between day and night, and a crucial period of autumn harvest, plowing, and planting for Baiyun's vast farmlands. This day also marks the "Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival", honoring the hard work and dedication of farmers. The rise of live streaming has enabled farmers to promote high-quality agricultural products through e-commerce.
The Kangyu Smart Agriculture Park has adopted a farming model integrating chickens, ducks, fish, and vegetables, achieving a per-hectare output value exceeding 10 million yuan ($1.42 million). Meanwhile, the former largest overlord flower planting base in Baiyun, Liuxiwan Fenghua Garden, has transformed into a rural tourism demonstration site, offering flower viewing, fruit picking, and educational experiences.
At Guangdong Anyuanlyu Natural Modern Agriculture, a 33-mu (2.2-hectare) vegetable greenhouse is equipped with water and fertilizer integration facilities, achieving pesticide-free cultivation through physical and biological pest control methods.
With the advent of intelligent agricultural machinery, tasks such as sowing, weeding, and irrigation can be managed with the simple touch of a screen. This fusion of technology and agriculture has reshaped Baiyun's rural landscape, making it a model of modern agricultural practices.
Baiyun's high-quality agricultural products, such as Longgang wampee, Shatian lemon, and yellow chicken, have gained national recognition. This autumn, the fields of southern Guangdong are filled with the sights and sounds of a bountiful harvest.
