Baiyun has some of China's top 1,000 towns
Four towns in Baiyun district have once again secured places on the list of China's top 1,000 towns for 2024.
The achievement is said to highlight its excellence in economic development, innovation and ecological sustainability.
Zhongluotan town – located in the northeastern part of Baiyun – was ranked 244th in the assessment. The town is known for its environment and focus on emerging industries such as the biomedicines sector.
In 2023, Zhongluotan attracted a fixed asset investment of 11 billion yuan ($1.57 billion) and it generated an agricultural output value of 2.48 billion yuan.
Jianggao town, located in the central axis between Baiyun New City and Baiyun Airport, ranked 249th. The town is said to have made significant progress in the industrial and retail sectors, with a total industrial output value of 48.91 billion yuan in 2023.
Taihe town, located in the central part of Baiyun, ranked 290th. The town's economic performance has reportedly been robust, with a total industrial output value of 8.77 billion yuan and achievements in retailing and agriculture. What's more, Taihe is boosting the construction of the Guangzhou Private Science and Technology Park, Taihe New City and Maofeng Mountain.
Renhe town, in the northern part of Baiyun, ranked 348th. Leveraging its proximity to Guangzhou Airport, Renhe has attracted numerous investment projects and new business enterprises. In 2023, the town saw the completion of several key projects, including the Renhe Park Phase I.
