New housing project launches in Baiyun, completion expected by 2026
Baiyun district has started the construction of a new housing project aimed at providing modern, eco-friendly living spaces for local residents. The project, located in the core area of the Guangzhou Private Science and Technology Park, is part of a broader initiative to expand and upgrade the park's facilities.
On Sept 24, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Baitang Resettlement Housing Project took place. This project is expected to be completed by March 2026 and will provide housing for 682 households from Taihe town and Longgui neighborhood. The development spans an area of 70,000 square meters, with a total construction area of 310,000 sq m, including 192,500 sq m designated for residential use. The project will feature 14 buildings and a variety of amenities such as a kindergarten, police station, community health service center, and a farmers' market.
The expansion and upgrading of the core area of the Guangzhou Private Science and Technology Park cover a total area of 351.3 hectares, involving 10 villages. The project aims to optimize the park's spatial layout and promote green, low-carbon development. By releasing high-quality land resources and attracting high-end industries, the project is expected to enhance Baiyun's employment rate and drive the development of related industrial chains.
