Updated : October 22, 2024

The Baiyun district people's government and Central China Normal University held a signing ceremony on Oct 18.

As a result, they will work together to establish a nine-year public school – called the Central China Normal University Baiyun School – marking the university's first school of compulsory education in Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong province.

Under the agreement, they will leverage their respective strengths to enhance basic education, regional education quality, traditional culture innovation, research transformation and teacher training.

The new school – to be located in the northern extension of Baiyun New City – will have 96 classrooms and cover an area of 4 hectares, with a floor space of about 35,000 square meters.

The collaboration is said to be a milestone in Baiyun's educational development, contributing to its higher quality and more balanced regional education.

For some time, Baiyun has been actively attracting leading schools and establishing educational groups and alliances. Over the past decade, Baiyun has added over 73,000 public school places and more than 7,000 quality places – with the number of exemplary high schools and smart campuses leading the way in the city.

The establishment of Central China Normal University Baiyun School is viewed as reflecting the shared commitment to education and a solid foundation for further collaboration.

It will focus on school management, educational data applications, traditional culture innovation, teacher training and talent cultivation, ultimately serving the new development pattern and promoting high-quality growth.
