Historic Longgang Arcade Street undergoes transformation
The historic Longgang Arcade Street, located in Longgang village, Zhongluotan town, is set to undergo transformation. This street, with its old blue bricks and grey tiles, has stood the test of time, maintaining its architectural integrity and charm.
Built in the early years of the People's Republic of China, Longgang Arcade Street stretches approximately 150 meters. It is adjacent to the Zeng Clan Ancestral Hall, Longgang Park, and the old village. Once a bustling hub, the street housed a supply and marketing cooperative and an old theater. In its heyday during the late 1980s and early 1990s, the street was a vibrant community center.

The street gradually declined in the mid to late 1990s, leaving only a handful of shops. A significant renovation project recently aims to restore Longgang Arcade Street to its former glory. The project will preserve the original architectural style while integrating new commercial elements and blending the street's historical charm with modern cultural and tourism industries.

The upgraded Longgang Arcade Street will feature a night market on the ground floor and leisure and tourism businesses on the second floor. This renovation project is expected to attract more investment and bring in cultural and dining enterprises, contributing to the village's economic and cultural revival.
