Traditional craftsmanship is the largest proportion of the newly recognized projects, with 10 items. These include Cantonese-style beef offal, pastries, Cantonese noodles, lotus leaf rice, and the uniquely named "stinky vinegar". These traditional culinary techniques have become a distinctive feature of Baiyun district, blending tradition with innovation to offer residents a taste of local delicacies.
The traditional medicine category has seen substantial growth, with seven new items added this year. These include traditional Chinese medical treatments such as Li's pediatric therapy and the Lingnan School of Oncology. These additions highlight Baiyun's rich history and diversity in traditional Chinese medicine.
The newly added projects include one item in folk literature, one in traditional sports, games, and acrobatics, and one in traditional arts. Notable projects include the legend of Nengren Temple on Baiyun Mountain and the Wing Chun "Six and a Half Point Staff" technique, which dates back to the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
