The Guangzhou International Light Festival Organizing Committee convened a press conference on Nov 1 to announce that the festival is scheduled to be held from Nov 9 to 18.
With the tagline "Vibrant Bay Area, New Colors of Guangzhou", the festival will introduce a new central venue along with two satellite venues. The central venue will include Huacheng Square, Haixinsha Asian Games Park, and Canton Tower, while the satellite venues will be located on both sides of the river and in Huangpu district.
Nearly 50 groups of designers from diverse domestic and international backgrounds have contributed their works to the festival. Additionally, videos for related exhibitions are being gathered from around the world to curate a collective visual spectacle of light and shadow.
The activities at this year's festival are inspired by AI, delving into the fusion of light technology with AI and other future technologies. Alongside static light installations, immersive works in a diverse array of forms have been incorporated into the festival, animating cyber mascots and offering immersive light and shadow experiences that encompass various facets of future urban living, such as clothing, food, housing, and transportation. Through the integration of AI, visual arts, and light and shadow interactions, attendees can catch a glimpse of life as AI advances.
As the one-year countdown to the 15th National Games approaches, the festival serves as a crucial platform for promoting the city's image. This year's event not only highlights Guangzhou's advancements in the digital economy and AI sectors but also extends warm wishes for the success of the 15th National Games.
