Baiyun road upgrades to improve traffic flow at Huawei center

Updated : December 23, 2024

The road construction project in Qingqiao Street, located in the Luochongwei area, has been completed.

The new road will give the Huawei Guangzhou Research and Development Center a new important thoroughfare, enhancing the convenience of regional transportation.

The center is Huawei's first research and development base in Guangzhou, covering an area of approximately 119,300 square meters, with a total construction area of about 305,000 sq m. It is capable of accommodating around 5,000 people.

Previously, the roads in this area were congested, and the roads connecting to the center's main entrance and exit could not meet demand.

To address this issue, Baiyun district has been implementing a phased road network project, including projects such as Songnan Road, the ground auxiliary road of Jinshazhou Bridge, and Songbei Street, all scheduled for completion by 2023.

The Qingqiao Street project, which is approximately 340 meters long, features two lanes in each direction, with a speed limit of 30 kilometers per hour. It took over five months to complete.

The Qingqiao Street project has now been completed and will open along with the Huawei Guangzhou Research and Development Center.

This initiative will enhance transportation convenience for businesses, improve the flow of both people and goods, support companies in conducting research and innovation activities more efficiently, and further enhance the influence and attractiveness of Baiyun in the high-tech industry sector.
