The planning for the eastern section of the Guangfo Ring Expressway in Tianhe has been fully approved and has a target open date before the 2025 National Games. With a total length of approximately 46.7 kilometers, the route will shorten the commuting time from Guangzhou South Station to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.

Moving forward, Guangzhou will increase efforts on projects such as the expansion and renovation of the Airport Expressway, the Baiyun to Sanshui section of the Huizhou to Zhaoqing Expressway, and the expansion and renovation of the North Second Ring Expressway. The city will seek national funding support to accelerate infrastructure development.
