Baiyun creates ecological rainwater garden
Yunqili Park, located in Baiyun New Town, Guangzhou, used to be an ordinary hillside green space and has been transformed into an ecological rainwater garden.
This park covers an area of approximately 6,686 square meters, with underground layers consisting of vegetation water storage, soil layer, coarse sand layer, gravel layer, and compacted soil layer. Through these five layers of structure, rainwater is filtered to alleviate urban drainage pressure.

Being Guangzhou's first hillside sponge park, the park has attracted over 20 species of birds and insects, creating an urban ecological wetland. While preserving the original trees, more than 50 varieties of Lingnan flowers and plants have been planted to create a miniature forest atmosphere.
The park features a community service station, children's play facilities, and other amenities to bring people closer to nature. Baiyun New Town also boasts other recreational areas, such as the Xiaogang Sponge Exploration Park and the Ribbon-like Park along Yuncheng West Road.
In the past two years, Baiyun New Town has completed the greening system transformation of 13 roads, turning green belts into citizen recreational areas that combine ecology, fitness, sightseeing, culture, and science popularization.
People can experience the "20-minute park effect" and enjoy the green scenery within the district.
