Baiyun Avenue ascends as core of 100b-yuan auto industry
Stretching 38.6 kilometers across 10 towns and subdistricts, Guangzhou's Baiyun Automotive Avenue has evolved from a cluster of auto repair and sales shops that emerged along National Highway 105 in the 1990s into a comprehensive industrial belt. It now integrates vehicle sales, parts trade, maintenance and modification, research and development, exhibition, and cultural tourism.

Currently, the avenue hosts over 300 sales enterprises and more than 1,000 maintenance businesses, ranking first in the city for the number of auto-related enterprises. In 2024, its sales exceeded 66.6 billion yuan ($9.43 billion), reflecting a 10 percent year-on-year growth. To embrace the transition to new energy vehicles, Baiyun district has introduced leading brands such as HarmonyOS Intelligent Mobility and BYD's Fang Cheng Bao. New energy vehicle sales in the Yongping section surged from 120 million yuan to 5.5 billion yuan.
Looking ahead, Baiyun district aims to achieve an industrial output value exceeding 150 billion yuan by 2030, positioning Baiyun Automotive Avenue as a national model for automotive industry transformation and upgrading.
