Canoeing events conclude in Baiyun
The canoeing competitions of the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games concluded on Dec 11 at the Guangdong International Rowing Center. A total of 24 gold medals were awarded, with the Yunnan team delivering an outstanding performance, securing 13 gold medals and becoming the event's top performers.

Athletes cut through the waves, demonstrating tenacity and a relentless competitive spirit, as the cheering audience enthusiastically supported them.
Among the standout performers was Yunnan athlete Li Aiwu, who, after years of transitioning between sports, finally achieved gold at these games. "Post-00s" rising star Pu Yi claimed double gold in the 200m and 500m events, and has already set his sights on the next Games, while veteran paddler Xie Maosan from Zhejiang earned her sixth national gold medal despite being injured.
Guangdong International Rowing Center also received consistent praise from participants for its comprehensive accessibility facilities and thoughtful logistical support.
