Baiyun's 1st Sam's Club to open in late 2026
Guangzhou's Baiyun district reached a significant milestone in its commercial development with its first-ever Sam's Club member store recently topping out its primary structure.
Located in the core Jiahe Wanggang business area within the expanding northern section of Guangzhou Design Valley, this landmark project is being developed by Guangzhou Jianke Group.

As the first Sam's Club in Guangzhou to target a prestigious Three-Star Green Building certification, the store spans approximately 54,000 square meters and will feature around 1,000 parking spaces. The construction phase presented significant challenges, including vast retail spaces with ceilings exceeding 9 meters. The project team overcame these by implementing innovative construction methods and rigorous daily management, achieving a peak monthly concrete pouring area of nearly 10,000 sq m.
Strategically located near a major subway interchange serving three lines, the store offers excellent accessibility. It is scheduled for completion around mid-2026, with full opening by the end of that year. Owned by Walmart, Sam's Club is a global warehouse club chain known for its curated, high-quality goods and membership-based model, operating over 800 stores worldwide.
This new outlet is poised to become a key shopping destination for residents in Baiyun and beyond.
