Several of Guangzhou's Friendship Cities and its international friends have shown their support for the city in its fight against the novel coronavirus outbreak through a variety of ways, such as making donations and recording videos.
A warm-hearted donation by overseas Chinese in Panama with Guangzhou roots arrived at Xinzhuang village, Huadu district in Guangzhou to contribute to the efforts to prevent and combat novel coronavirus pneumonia.
Guangdong reported 22 new cases, raising the total number to 1,241 as of midnight on Feb 12. The province reported one death in total, and a total of 284 people have been discharged from hospitals. A total of 123 suspected cases were reported and 3,123 people are under observation.
Rootcloud, headquartered in Guangzhou's Pazhou area, has sent a batch of medical supplies that are urgently needed, including surgical masks and medical protective clothing, in Guangdong province on Feb 11.
Guangdong reported 42 new cases of novel coronavirus pneumonia, raising the total number to 1,219 as of midnight on Feb 11. The province has reported one death in total, and a total of 241 people have been discharged from hospitals. A total of 135 suspected cases were reported and 3,124 people are under observation.
In an effort to simplify the customs clearance procedures for donated supplies provided by overseas individuals and organizations to combat the novel coronavirus, the Department of Civil Affairs of Guangdong Province and the Guangdong Branch of the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) have jointly designated 38 organizations as the recipients of supplies donated from abroad, and set up green channels accordingly.
