On Jan 9, the Guangdong Port and Shipping Tower near the Canton Tower held a topping-out ceremony.

The Guangdong Port and Shipping Tower enjoys a central location in the core area of the Canton Tower-Pazhou commercial district, next to iconic buildings such as the Canton Tower and the Haixin Bridge.

With a total investment of approximately 1.8 billion yuan ($245.52 million) and a total floor area of around 75,000 square meters, the building is expected to be completed and operational by the end of 2025.

The tower will serve as a Grade A office building, embodying the design principles of being green, innovative, and shared. It will focus on the headquarters economy, digital economy, high-end commerce, hotel tourism, and more, injecting new vitality into the development of the Pazhou Digital Island.

It will promote coordinated development with the Pazhou Port Macao Ferry Terminal, support the construction of the digital island, enhance the influence of the Canton Tower commercial district, and support Guangzhou in its quest to become an international consumption center.

Moreover, by leveraging the headquarters economy to promote the integrated development of the port and shipping industries, it will support initiatives such as the Belt and Road Initiative and the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, propelling economic and social development to new heights.
