The Sunflower Garden, which finished its construction in April 2002, is the first super-large theme garden designed in China with sunflowers as its ornamental plants. 

The garden is located in Xinken Shiwuchong, Wanqingsha Town in Nansha, and covers a total area of 260,000 square meters.

The park is the first of its kind in China where all of its sunflower seeds are imported (primarily from Japan). Apart from the sunflowers, there are other kinds of flowers including lavender, the English roses, Plectranthus' Mona Lavender and begonia flowers. Attractions in the park include the Squirrel Paradise, which is the first of its kind in China which houses more than one thousand squirrels, the Pomeranian Dog's Paradise and the Pigeon Square.
