Nansha European Economic and Trade Office established

The Nansha European Economic and Trade Office was recently established in Munich, Germany.The office was jointly initiated by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Commerce and two units of the Guangzhou Nansha New District Administrative Committee of the China (Guangdong) Free Trade Zone in 2018.

It will rely on the platform resources of the Economic and Trade Office to further strengthen economic and trade ties with developed countries such as Europe and the United States, as well as countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, and build a Nansha overseas economic and trade network to further expand investment.

The office will become the focus of gathering more international high-end elements and resources, helping Nansha to participate in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

It aims to promote the investment and innovation environment of Nansha to Europe, further enhance Nansha’s overseas influence, and become a window to tell the district’s story.

At present, it has built connections with the German Chemnitz Chamber of Commerce, the German Bavarian State Economic, Coordinating Development and Energy Department, the Bavarian Investment Agency and other government associations.

Nansha and Germany have a good business relationship. It is reported that as of December 31, 2018, there were eight German companies investing in Nansha, accounting for 0.2 % of the total. The total investment was 36.52 million US dollars, accounting for 0.04%. The registered capital was about 18 million US dollars, accounting for 0.02%.

Some companies with large investment are BASF Polyurethane (China) Co., Ltd., Voith Paper Services (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. and Guangzhou Zhongchuan Deness Marine Equipment Co., Ltd.
