A total of 35 Indonesians gathered at Nansha Bird Park in Guangzhou on May 22 for a traditional party, which was filled with traditional music and various kinds of Indonesian food, such as fried rice and curry.
"We saw this place that was full of the style of our home country on the internet, so we decided to hold our first party for 2020 here," said one of the participants of the party named Ika. "It was a wonderful night and we just feel like we're on Bali Island."
Another 10 workers from Indonesia then joined the party. They have been in Nansha since 2019 working on the construction of a new Indonesia pavilion in Nansha Bird Park for a competition on using bamboo to make building structures.

The competition is part of the culture and art festival showcasing bamboo culture from Southeast Asia that has been held in Nansha for two consecutive years.
"The theme of the Indonesia pavilion originated from the animals in the park, so the pavilion looks like a flying bird from the front side. It can hold up to 200 people," said one of the workers named Wayan.
Wayan added that all the bamboo used in the pavilion was imported from Indonesia.
