Updated: 2020-06-29chinadaily.com.cn

The first ferry route between Guangzhou's Nansha district and Shenzhen was launched on June 28 with deluxe high-speed passenger catamaran Xin Shi Su 1 departing from Nansha Passenger Port and arriving at the Fuyong Ferry Terminal of Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport after a 35-minute journey.

Xin Shi Su 1, which is equipped with luggage racks, accessible lavatories, sunshade curtains, and USB ports, boasts a faster speed, better safety performance and soundproofing, a larger space, as well as more user-friendly facilities compared with ordinary passenger liners.

It will serve the 15.3-nautical-mile ferry route along with Xin Shi Su 2. Both of them feature 199 economy-class, first-class, and VIP seats. An economy-class ticket is priced at 90 yuan ($13) for adult, 65 yuan for seniors, as well as 45 yuan for children and disabled soldiers. A first-class ticket is 120 yuan, 95 yuan, and 60 yuan for adults, seniors, as well as children and disabled soldier respectively, while the VIP ticket is 180 yuan, 150 yuan, and 90 yuan respectively.

Ferries bound for Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport are available at 9 am, 11:50 am, and 4:30 pm, while the return trips are scheduled at 10:10 am, 1:30 pm, and 5:35 pm.

The opening of the ferry route greatly shortens the distance between cities on the east and west banks of Pearl River, as well as contributes to the formation of a one-hour living circle in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
