The Nansha industry and information technology bureau released a three-year action plan (2020-22) on accelerating the development of digital new infrastructure in Nansha district on Aug 20.
The action plan is aimed at stimulating new growth drivers for regional development, promoting the modernization of urban governance systems and capacity, as well as pushing forward high-quality socio-economic development.
Five projects will be launched, each focusing on information infrastructure, artificial intelligence, smart cities, industrial internet, and smart charging facilities.
Nansha will strive to build 4,500 5G base stations by the end of 2022, allowing major areas in the district, including administrative areas, densely populated residential areas, and industrial concentrated development areas, to be covered with 5G signals. Special 5G networks will be built for major industries like power grids, emergency management, and the chemical industry.
Demonstrative 5G projects, such as the innovative application of 5G in Guangzhou Port, as well as the demonstration zone for autonomous driving and smart transportation, will be promoted for further operation.
Intelligent emergency management will be promoted and a command center integrating emergency command, monitoring, and dispatching will be built in Nansha.
Nansha will keep offering guidance to local companies to put their core business systems, manufacturing equipment, and products on online platforms. The number of companies registered on the online platform is expected to exceed 200 by 2022.
Efforts will also be made in providing preferential policies as a document on supporting measures for the development of the new generation of information technology will be released soon to make contributions to Nansha's digital new infrastructure development.
