Nansha gives support for new-generation IT industry

Guangzhou's Nansha district issued 18 supportive policies Nov 11 to accelerate for the agglomeration and development of the new-generation information technology (IT).

Enterprises registered in Nansha and involved in the following fields are eligible for these supportive policies: new-type displays, integrated circuits, new-generation information communications, next-generation internet protocols, third-generation semiconductors, the industrial internet, car networking, the internet of things, cloud computing and big data, new-generation IT services, and blockchain. The policies will be available until Dec 31, 2021.

Newly settled foreign-funded non-headquarter enterprises with paid up registered capital over $10 million, $30 million and $100 million shall receive a grant of 5 million yuan ($759,170), 8 million yuan, and 10 million yuan respectively.

Newly settled foreign-funded non-headquarter enterprises with paid up registered capital of over 50 million yuan (only for the top 1,000 companies in the world), 200 million yuan, 500 million yuan, and 1 billion yuan shall receive a grant of 5 million yuan, 8 million yuan, 10 million yuan, and 12 million yuan respectively.

Newly settled projects with a fixed-asset investment of more than 500 million yuan will be given a subsidy that is 2 percent of their actual fixed-asset investment, with the maximum amount no more than 200 million yuan.

A subsidy that is 4 percent of the actual fixed-asset investment will be given to enterprises which have invested more than 5 million yuan in production expansion and technological upgrading projects, and achieved growth in business revenue in the year of project completion. The maximum amount is 8 million yuan.

Enterprises whose operating income reached 5 million yuan, 10 million yuan, 20 million yuan, 50 million yuan, and 100 million yuan for the first time in the previous year will be rewarded with 200,000 yuan, 300,000 yuan, 500,000 yuan, 1 million yuan, and 2 million yuan respectively.

National high-tech enterprises from outside Guangzhou will be given a grant of 500,000 yuan, while enterprises in Nansha that are recognized as national high-tech enterprises will be granted  300,000 yuan.

Enterprises listed on domestic mainboards, Growth Enterprise Market (GEM), science and technology innovation boards, SMEs boards, or that are listed overseas, can receive a bonus of up to 8 million yuan in stages.
