The mainland will no longer cap the number of passengers arriving from the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions via land ports in Guangdong province, starting from February 6.

In order to make it convenient for residents to process endorsements to Hong Kong and Macao, a batch of intelligent endorsement kiosks have been set up at the Nansha Government Affairs Center in Guangzhou.

Residents can carry their ID cards and Hong Kong and Macao passes to the 24-hour self-service area and complete procedures for endorsement renewals without reservation and queuing. It is possible for residents to complete renewal procedures within three minutes, which is the fastest time recorded.

The self-service area has been equipped with 26 kiosks, such as the ID card self-service machines, entry-exit self-service cameras, a self-service tax machine, the citizen's window, and the medical insurance inquiry kiosk.

These kiosks are able to handle 391 business matters, including public security, tax, transportation, land resources and public accumulation funds, which will effectively improve the efficiency of government services.
