Nansha is planning to hold another fresh durian fair on May 20 in Longxue Street, following the success of the first fair on May 1 that attracted nearly 5,000 tourists.
The event will not only sell popular durian varieties such as the Golden Pillow and the Cat Mountain King, but also provide coconuts and blueberries produced by the Joyvio Group, a leading international food and agribusiness company. Melons grown on Nansha's Zhizheng farm are also ready to be sold at the fair.
A highlight is that there will be 18 metric tons of durians available for visitors to taste on site, as sales will teach tourists how to choose the best durians for their taste buds.
It is expected that 8,000 boxes of durians will enter the Chinese market via Nansha Port this year.
The district will rely on the Guangzhou Nansha International Cold Chain project, China's largest cold chain warehouse and logistics distribution base, to ensure that locals in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area can enjoy fresh food from around the world.
