Guangzhou's Nansha district held various activities over the Spring Festival holiday. The district's traveler number during the holiday reached record highs, up to 1.7 million, a 58.22 percent increase in the same period in 2023, local media outlets reported on Feb 18.

Eight special Spring Festival activities, combining the concept of both migratory birds and Loong, were held for visitors in the Nansha Binhai Wetland Scenic Area, which was listed as a national 4A level tourist attraction.

Traditional folk activities attracted visitors to Nansha Innovation Bay, an entrepreneurship base for Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao youth in Nansha. They enjoyed the large-scale lantern carving art, admired Lingnan area's ancient teak sailing boat, tasted the local cuisine, and cruised the Jiaomen River by dragon boat.

Nansha's outstanding performance in tourism demonstrates its development. The local economy reaped the rewards, evident in the substantial influx of visitors to the district's four major shopping centers, such as Nansha Wanda Plaza and Coco Park, which welcomed nearly 1.1 million visitors.
