Nansha commences 2024 spring sowing

Nansha district held a sowing event to kick-start its 2024 spring food production on March 15.

The event highlighted the promotion of quality silk seedling rice, advanced equipment, and new technologies. Four quality varieties of silk seedling rice were applied to showcase the significance of crop technologies and equipment. 

The event displayed advanced agricultural machinery equipment, including multifarious intelligent rice trans-planters and crop drones, operating them in the rice fields. These new technologies promise to revolutionize the way of farming, increasing efficiency and productivity. 

Besides, new technologies, such as green prevention and control measures for rice and integrated rice-duck farming, were promoted to improve agricultural production and profits.

In addition, Nansha is taking various measures to complete its 66,000-mu (4,400-hectare) spring sowing task in 2024. The district has prepared adequate agricultural materials for the task. It has stocked 900 metric tons of fertilizer and 170 tons of pesticides.

Meanwhile, Nansha continues to provide unwavering support and professional guidance services for farmers in various ways, including the "China Agri-Tech Extension" App, hotlines, and WeChat. This commitment to farmers is a testament to dedication to their success and the success of agricultural sector.

It also intensifies the supervision of agricultural products by cracking down on illegal behaviors such as price gouging and producing and selling counterfeit and shoddy products. Thus far, 10 agricultural supervision groups have carried out inspections of 52 related units.
