Explore bustling scene in Nansha during Dragon Boat Festival

During the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, Nansha district witnessed a lively scene with a total of 700,250 visitors over three days, marking a 72.62 percent increase compared to the previous year.

The Nansha Dragon Boat Race was held again, with citizens witnessing the fierce competition among 32 dragon boat teams and 800 athletes. The well-developed commercial areas saw a significant increase in hotel occupancy rates and restaurant revenues.

Traditional activities were also organized in Huangge and Dongchong towns. These included the dragon ritual by the Huangge Dragon Boat Team, the "Old Dragon" ceremony in Xiqiao village, and the Dragon Boat Banquet. Dongchong town hosted a waterborne fashion show and opportunities to experience intangible cultural heritage, highlighting the charm of the riverside community.

The Cantonese opera evening in Huangge town attracted numerous local residents and tourists. Additionally, the traditional custom of "expelling the five poisons" garnered attention, allowing visitors to experience the traditional folk customs of removing the five poisons.

Nansha Wetland became a popular destination for tourists, with lotus flowers in full bloom. Visitors could enjoy flower viewing, boat rides, traditional games, and handicraft activities. Nansha Wetland homestays organized activities such as archery, pot throwing, and handmade zongzi and sachet making.

During the Dragon Boat Festival holiday in Nansha, traditional and modern elements blended as various regions hosted a diverse range of activities, attracting numerous tourists to celebrate the festival together.
